This is a futuristic movie about four astronauts whose spaceship crashed on a lake in an unknown planet. During their exploration they found out that the planet is being ruled by apes. Three of the four died during their exploration. Towards the end of the movie, the surviving astronaut found out that he was actually on earth. He realized that humanity must have destroyed its own civilization with war, thereby paving the way for the Planet of the Apes.
